Corfu
- A Brief Overview
Corfu
is an exquisite mixture of history, bustling resort
s, sleepy villages,
shady olive groves, white pebbly coves and long sandy beaches.
To this day,
intermingled with supermarkets and internet cafes, are little old ladies
on donkeys with bundles of sticks precariously balanced on their heads.
Moraitika
is situated slightly south of the centre of the island offering the
opportunity to visit the capital, Corfu Town, the rugged coastline
of the north east with spectacular coves & bays, the long
sandy beaches of the west coast or the quieter southern tip of the island
where in certain villages, time appears to have stood still with a
foot firmly in the past. One southerly town, however - Kavos - is about as
hectic as they come and definitely not for the faint hearted or those
seeking peaceful relaxaton!
Many
consider Corfu to be the most beautiful of the Greek Islands
with its verdant landscape - which is one of the reasons, together with
the famous Greek hospitality, why so many return year after year.
