Beaches
Moraitika
has a long sand & shingle beach shelving into the Ionian Sea. The
Greek mainland lies a few kilometres across the water offering splendid
views of the hills and mountains along the coastline. Sun-beds can be
hired on a daily basis and there are various water-sports available.
Numerous bars and tavernas serving snacks, meals and light refreshments,
can be found along the beach.
A short
drive away (Approximately 15 mins), on the West coast, lie the very long
sandy beaches of Halicouna & Issos. Just behind Halicouna lies Lake
Korisson, a nature reserve, whilst Issos is backed by large sand dunes.
To the South
of Moraitika lie the fishing villages of Messonghi, Boukari & Petriti with a selection
of fine fish tavernas. |

There are several cash machines, many supermarkets stocking a wide range
of Greek and international produce, car hire companies, chemists, Medical Centres,
Travel Agents who can exchange
money and advise you regarding excursions etc. together with
many bars and restaurants. You'll even find a Go-Kart track! |

At the Makis
Studios, we provide a range of snacks and meals in our Sfinaki Bar,
but should you decide to choose one of the many restaurants in Moraitika,
there is a wide choice. A few Tavernas are perched on the hillsides around
Moraitika & Messonghi offering magnificent views of Corfu and across
to mainland Greece. |

These range
from traditional Greek bars to music and entertainment bars. Many are
situated on or close to Moraitika main street, some are on the beach. |
